I make art for the home--pieces scaled to life and designed to create an atmosphere of calm and order.
Throughout my childhood in Austin, I would sit and draw house plans for hours. I thought that meant I wanted to be an architect.
But I didn't want to build houses.
I wanted to build homes.
Houses are built with stones and mortar. Homes are built with trust, commitment and love. The foundation of a home is a happy marriage and children who feel safe and loved. The beauty of a harmonious home is found in a cracking fireplace; home-cooked meals enjoyed around the table; babies tucked in with cozy blankets; and art: pretty, soft, and serene art. Nothing complicated and over thought. Colors that are easy on the eyes and gentle to the senses.
I create paintings to help make home a place of refuge, peace and tranquility.
